About
Hello! My name is Jonathon, and I've been teaching in and around schools for five years, doing everything from interventionist support to writing curriculum to working in administration. I work with students as young as five up through adulthood on a range of subjects: Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Music, ACT, SAT, LSAT, Literacy, and College Readiness/Career Planning.
My biggest strengths as a teacher are my problem solving and analysis skills. I am efficiently able to approach a situation with a struggling student and find what the disconnect is that's causing issues. Regardless of the available source material, I'm then able to come up with problems on the spot to practice those skills and address those struggles.
My tutoring programs are tailored to the individual student. We'll start with diagnostic work to pinpoint what skill gaps are present and develop a plan built around those needs. Any individual goals and benchmarks will also be figured into this programming.

Frequently asked questions
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
All tutoring sessions will be billed at 45 dollars an hour. I will not bill on smaller increments, and sessions that do not run a full hour will be rounded up to the hour (this is rare). Sessions may be cancelled with no less than 48 hours notice. Sessions cancelled after this window expires will be billed at full price (including travel expenses).
In person sessions that require me to drive 45-60 miles (round-trip) will have an additional 15 dollars per session added to billing, and sessions that require me to drive more than 60 miles (round-trip) will have an additional 25 dollars per session added to billing.
I am also available to develop additional curriculum for practice outside of our tutoring sessions. Should you seek this, we can discuss pricing based on the amount of work I will need to do to prepare the curriculum.
