Tookes Tutoring

Hi! My name is Jamaya Tookes. I am a Smith alum. I love working with students and cultivating a love of learning within them. I have years of experience working with students from different backgrounds and working on behalf of students. I have tutored children in math and reading during the summer to help them perform on grade level. I have worked at a summer camp run by the Paideia School and a summer camp run by the Emmaus House. I also have interned at The Performance Project, a nonprofit that works to bring art to children who are not privileged financially. I have also worked as a lead daycare teacher where I worked with children of all ages. I love engaging in the work that I do in education because it fulfills me to know that I'm affecting future generations by impacting a student's life in a positive way.
