About this tutor

I am a freelance tutor and have recently graduated with a bachelors degree in Communication Studies. Writing and reading are two of the most outstanding skills I claim to have and be good at hence tutoring made easy. I have mastered English throughout my higher education until my honing years in college. It is my nature and it is something I am confident with.

Writing and reading are my passion and doing something I love for work is just thrilling. I enjoy doing it myself thus making tutoring an easy task. There is nothing better than knowing I influence people with my writing, more so having to teach someone how to be better at it.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The progress for new students typically depends on their level of comprehension and areas of difficulty but generally, 3-6 months with at least 4 meetings each week.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I obtained an Associate's degree in Communication at Montgomery College, Rockville and a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies at the University of Maryland University College. I have also been freelance writing as a blogger and as a digital content creator.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

$50 every session with a once a week to thrice a month meeting with the tutor is recommended.

How did you get started teaching?

I have had people tell me to start coaching for writing, reading and comprehension improvement as they have seen my own writings and public profiles on national issues and different advocacies. I found Tutors.com during an internet surf and thus concluded to trying tutoring.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have dealt with freshman college students, different high school level students, and international students from Asia with my expertise.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I like NGOs and project planning and I was recently involved in a big wedding for a friend that I planned out and decorated by myself.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I tell my students to get out of their comfort zones most of the time as this comes parallel with their intake of knowledge and willingness in learning. Tutors are there to create a bond and be a shoulder in need.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Am I comfortable being corrected?

Do I have the committed time and energy to learning new strategies for my needs?
