Global Tutors
About
As the founder of Global, I specialize in K-12 and college-level ELA (reading, writing, literature, essay writing), journalism, history, global and local politics, mid-level science research writing, speech writing, and ghost writing. I find that students learn in different ways. There is no cookie-cutter approach to learning. The key is to find the method that will most interest the student and make learning fun. I have been a journalist, communications director, and an English/Writing college tutor. As a journalist for more than 15 years, I wrote stories about local and foreign politics, education, history, and displaced communities across the globe. As a communications director, I worked all methods of media to create positive messaging for an elite preparatory school and helped to facilitate multicultural workshops. As a tutor and writing specialist for roughly a decade; however, I receive the most satisfaction helping first-generation English speaking students with the fundamentals of math, history, literature, reading comprehension, and writing. I am the author of a children's book, an award-winning journalist, and I have traveled to more than 20 countries.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first try to find out what interests the student. In the case of young students, parents often provide that information. Then, I ask the student what he/she likes about the subject. We go over fundamentals of the subject and try to associate it with his/her interests.
