I've won teaching awards at multiple colleges and have been teaching all levels of English, including in middle and high school, for nine years. I have a PhD in English from the Catholic University of America, where I was nominated for two teaching awards and won a third.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get to know my student briefly before jumping in. I usually ask about typical difficulties they have, etc., and I try to encourage good writerly habits -- in and out of the classroom.
