Kamoya helped me pass my exam (the physics and mathematics sections) to get into Medical school! I then came back to this tutor for help during my Electromagnetism course in Med school. Honestly top notch, very clear, concise and spent as long as it took for me to ‘get it’. He also gave me a lot of review questions and had a solid base in what he was talking about and always cross-refrenced with books for formulas he wasn’t sure about off the top of his head. All in all, a Stellar experience. Thank you

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to first discuss with the student to get a sense of how he/she feel about the particular subject, including current strengths and weaknesses, as well as their improvement goals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from MIT and this makes me very experienced and quallified in the areas of mathematics, physics, and computer science. I also took AP Calculus, AP Physics, AP Chemistry, and AP English Language in high school and so I am very familiar with the subject material most students are dealing with.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge $70 per hour.

How did you get started teaching?

My counselor at high school recommended me to some parents looking for tutors for their middle school children because of my high grades and responsible character.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students ranging from age 12 to age 23 on subjects like algebra, calculus, geometry, physics, etc.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

You've come to the right place. Getting a tutor can help you to greatly increase your understanding and confidence in whatever subject you seek to improve at. Having studied at MIT for my undergraduate and (current) graduate degrees, I have the knowledge and insights that will help you improve your confidence, understanding, and grades.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Students should try to identify the topics they are good at and the ones they need improvement in. Furthermore, students should outline their learning goals so that it is easier for the tutor to track progress and milestones.
