Mathematics Tutor
About
I received my graduate and undergraduate degree in Mathematics: Secondary Education (7-12) from the University of New Hampshire. I am certified to teach in New Hampshire, and can apply for a certification in most states because I passed the Praxis and MTEL exams. I currently teach Algebra 1, Geometry and Precalculus (grades 9-12).
I love to teach students and build their confidence and skills in the classroom. Math can be stressful so I try my best to create a comfortable and inclusive environment.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always use the first day to get to know a student, rather than jumping straight into math. I like to learn about the students needs in school and how they are outside of school. It is important to make a connection with a student if you want them to learn from you.

How did you get started teaching?
I knew I wanted to teach ever since I was young. My first experience in a classroom was my senior year of high school during my internship at an elementary school in my town.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all grade levels. When I was still in college I worked with special education students grades k-8. I now work in a high school teaching mathematics.
