About
I've been a tutor and educator since 2012. I primarily teach math, Latin, coding, and ESL. For Math I teach up to college level linear algebra. For Latin, I teach up to AP level (Aeneid). For coding, I teach some college level CS and coding, but you can inquire to hear more.
I'm professional and experienced. I can provide you with plenty of references, resume, state background check or whatever else you need to feel confident about working with me. I usually start off with a brief phone call just to talk about your situation and see if we're a good fit.
While I enjoy working with all kinds of students, most of my students are between middle school and college level. As someone diagnosed with ADHD, I'm also very empathetic with organizational/attentional issues and I often coach students with those kinds of issues as well.
Looking forward to meeting you!
Perhaps it sounds a little cliche, but what I love the most about tutoring is when there's an "I got it!" kind of moment, where something that was puzzling us before now all of a sudden falls into place. It's really a joy to see that happen in my students.
Over the years, I've found though that I increasingly enjoy helping students through not just the content, but also on the process, so they feel empowered to accomplish their academic goals on their own and to use their teachers/tutors as resources not as crutches.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I'll want to just have a phone call and go over what we want to work on and what our goals are.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Roxbury Latin and Brown University, and then have had a diverse range of teaching experiences since, including time teaching English in Thailand, as well as teaching classes and private students back in the US in Boston.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My price varies by how often I meet the student and how long sessions are.
How did you get started teaching?
I jumped into it immediately after college.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have had many types of students from middle schoolers to people in their 40s. While most of my private tutoring has been with students in the Boston area, I now have students from all over the world from as far away as Hong Kong!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In my free time I love making art. I recently painted some paintings of my cat and they turned out better than I expected!
