As an educator, I've worked in many different positions. From after school homework help to elementary school to now high school. I believe working in various positions has given me the skills to work with any students and help them prioritize their needs.
I enjoy helping students find strategies that they can make their own to help them overcome the obstacles they encounter in their education.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student I first try and build a professional relationship with them. I've found students work well when they feel that they're interest and concerns are heard. Once I've gotten a good understanding of the student I take what I've heard from parents and develop an approach.

How did you get started teaching?
While in college I would substitute teach during breaks. Once I graduated I started as a one on one aid. Eventually, this led me to become a classroom teacher.
