Lexical Lecturing
About
I know how to craft essays and writings that make the author stand out in comparison to the competition. It's how I was offered places at both Columbia and UPenn this year and it's why I am currently enrolled at UPenn in their Education Entrepreneurship Ms.Ed.
My advice is direct and straight-to-the-point. I won't waste anyone's time hinting at what I mean or dancing around what I want to say because I'm worried it may hurt your feelings. My goal is to make you the best writer you can be; if that's your goal too, then we will work well together.
I have worked in the education industry for the last 8 years with both native and non-native speakers. I have spent almost five years with a (now) Ph.D. student at GeorgiaTech in the field of HCC (Human-Centered Computing).
I can help you write essays for lit classes, application essays for colleges/universities, or even conference papers and journals for submission. These are all things at which I am quite experienced.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It depends on the students' goals and what they are looking to write.
For students writing application essays, this usually involves moving them beyond cliche topics into areas that will really capture the attention of admissions.
For students working in lit, this usually involves text analysis and creating a voice that navigates readers down the myriad pathways of their thinking.
In general, I get to know the students themselves - their quirks, the things that make them them - and try to help them capture this quintessence on the page.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a 6th-grade homeroom teacher for three years.
Prior to that, I worked with adults as a one-to-one English instructor where I primarily worked in higher education and business.
