Frequently asked questions

I will have the student show me where they believe they are having their difficulties , and devise a plan to accomplish their goals.  I can listen to the students needs and concerns to formulate many strategies to accommodate them.

With all of my prior years of teaching inthe public school systems, I have been trained and learned varied techniques to help a student throughout their mathematics journey.  I feel confident that I can find a method to ensure that any student who wants to learn a subject can accomplish their goals.

I came from a strong family of mathematicians.  Both my sister and I were math teachers.  I still enjoy helping students along their way

I have worked with students with special needs through students in honor classes.  I started tutoring with students in pre-Allegra, and continued with them through honors pre calc!  I recently tutored a student in college struggling with online courses.  She benefitted with in person sessions and finished her course with great success

Learning math is a growing experience.  I also am still exploring new and interesting methods of working inthe math field.  The fondest event that I enjoy is hearing a student say, "You made that so easy, it wasn't difficult at all, now it makes sense."

My advice would be to openly communicate what you do not understand.  If you need it I can show varied methods to solving most problems.  If you don't understand, just tell me.  Together we can do it.

They need to be sure they know the basics.  Do they understand the procedure and rationale behind the topic
