Sophie Belanga

Hi there! My name is Sophie and I am currently on a gap year from college and working at Athleta in Natick. I have 4 years of experience as an environmental science camp counselor with children 11-15 years old. I love working with kids and and making lessons a fun experience rather than a boring lecture. I enjoy making the lessons a bit more interactive since it keeps the students more engaged and focused. As a student from 5th grade up until 8th grade, I struggled with understanding certain ideas and concepts so I understand how frustrating it can be. I never wanted a tutor due to the fact that many of them were older and would tend to teach differently than how most teachers are teaching now. Having just gone through the current school system, I have a better understanding about how curriculum is being taught and can match it to the best of my ability. I am a very open and empathetic person who likes to listen and then react rather than to react first.
