Max's Math Tutoring
About
I am a soon-to-be college freshman studying mathematics and computer science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Math has always been my strongest subject, and I am interested in pursuing it further. I have helped friends and family members numerous times with math homework and studying over the years. I also have experience working with middle school and elementary-school-aged children as a volunteer at the Metrowest YMCA. I have completed honors or AP-level courses in geometry, algebra 2, trigonometry/precalculus, and AP Calculus BC at my high school. I have also scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT math section and the Math 2 subject test. In addition, I was part of the math club at my high school and I participated in several AMC competitions. Over the summer, I am taking a multi-variable calculus course at Brandeis University, to give me a head start on my math career.
I am especially satisfied by helping others use math to enhance their understanding of the world. I hope to show students that much of math, which may seem daunting or meaningless, comes from intuition. This is possible for all levels and types of math; all that is required is a willing learner with an open mind.
