Hi! I'm recently retired from the aerospace industry where I worked on large-scale software systems. I have degrees in mathematics and computer science from Dartmouth College and Purdue University. I've been tutoring since 2018, working for a local company in Natick as well as online for Varsity Tutors. I've tutored a number of local high school students in math and physics, and college students online in statistics and computer programming. My rate is $60 per hour. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Learning a STEM subject requires problem solving. I work with the student to practice basic concepts and build up their skills so that they can build confidence and be successful. I spend the first session getting to know the student so that I can tailor the tutoring experience to their strengths and weaknesses.
