Principal English Tutoring
About
I am a high school English Teacher and principal with twenty years of experience and have taught all levels of English. I have worked with English Language Learners from all around the world including Brazil, Latin America, Haiti, China, Vietnam and Cape Verde. My father is an English Language Learner himself, so I am very passionate about the power of learning languages. Most recently, I have been teaching 11th and 12th grade students at Marlborough High school during the day and students in China online at night. I am very excited to meet you and help you accomplish anything that you want with the power of English!
I love getting to know my students and getting to know their hopes and dreams, so that I can individualize my teaching to help them get there! I enjoy helping young people to celebrate their strengths and their talents while also overcoming and conquering their challenges.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically spend half of the first class getting to know my student, and then learning about their goals for our work together. I then talk with them about their strengths and interests, as well as their biggest challenges. From those conversations, depending on the class they are taking, I give them an assessment that allows me to track their progress throughout our time together and make adjustments as needed
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Harvard University; undergraduate degree in English and Literature
Simmons college; graduate degree in Educational leadership
numerous professional development courses on online teaching
English Language Learner License
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard pricing is $50/hour and can be bundled for 15 sessions at $700 (a $50 discount). Or 30 for $1400 ($100 discount)
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching twenty years ago in South Boston as an English teacher but knew much earlier than that I wanted to work with young people--especially teenagers. I also have been coaching high school and youth sports for fifteen years and love seeing young adults become their very best selves. Finding ways to connect these interests is very important because it helps build confidence and increase engagement
