What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get to know the student and understand what makes them who they are. Following that, I like to do a brief work session with the student to help me understand what I can do to best help the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Math and Secondary Education Major with a specialization in Special Eduation at Lesley University. In addition, I have more than four years of classroom/tutoring experience and I have passed all the necessary MTEL certification exams to be a licensed Math Teacher.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $40 per hour with a minimum of one hour sessions.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching because I believe that a solid edcational fonudation opens many doors in life.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students who have moderate disabilites, students who have IEP plans, and students who do not.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am extremely proud of my experience with Breakthrough Greater Boston. I have worked with them as a pop-up teacher for the past year.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a tutor in your area of expertise?
I would recommend that the student does an introductory session with the tutor to see if they work well together.
