I have a couple years of past tutoring experience. I also currently assist middle school students in our special education department with mathematics. I enjoy helping students understand mathematics problems that they previously thought were out of their reach. I frequently ask students whether my explanation makes sense. If it does not, I come up with a new way to explain the topic that the student resonates with.
I have always had a passion for mathematics. I enjoy the logical process involved in the discipline and how there is one correct solution at the end of a problem. There are often different processes to take on the way to the solution, and students can choose the method that makes the most sense to them. It is great to see that "aha" moment when a topic makes sense to a student. This assures me that my explanation has been advantageous to the student.

Bennett is so easy to work with. He's super smart and so dedicated. Recently, we changed the time of our lesson at the last minute. He graciously cancelled his plans for the evening so that the could help us. His response? "Of course, I'd do that. She has a test." He's a star!
My typical process is to determine what the student needs the most help with. Students may want coaching on their homework, a review of past exams, or sample problems in preparation for a test. I am happy to help with any of these areas.
I have a Masters of Education in Middle School Math (5-8). I also have a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.
