Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Seeing what they don't and don't know, starting from the fundementals, doing basic practice problems, then doing more difficult problems.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently studying Physics and Math at Boston University, and I am planning on getting my PhD in theoretical physics. I have also taught AP Calc/Physics, so I have experience teaching upper level math and science courses
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Between 20-30 dollars an hour
How did you get started teaching?
I tutored some of my classmates/schoolmates and they said I was a very good explainer, so I continued doing it.
What types of students have you worked with?
Typically honors student in high school, but also little kids from 1-5th grade.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I ate A5 Wagyu for the first time this year! Really good
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Communication is always more important than expertise. You can have an insanely smart teacher, but that doesn't always mean they can convey information in an easy to understand manner.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What exactly do I need help with? What types of learning do you prefer? Is this course really for me? (Harsh, but it's the reality of the situation)
