About
I have acquired four years of tutoring experience while attending Bentley University. I was president of the peer tutoring group on campus, and worked an average of 25 hours per week while managing 40+ other tutors. Most of my tutoring experience thus far has pertained to statistics, business law, accounting, finance, writing, organizational coaching and economics.
For me, the most rewarding aspect of tutoring others is the ability to help make a positive impact on those who are really struggling with the material as well as keeping a positive attitude. Whether a student be struggling in one class or many, I always like to remember to incorporate a general "positive mindset builder" in each session because the attitude that one possesses while going through tutoring can sometimes be the most important part.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a student, I like to take the first meeting to go over general goals that the student may have. If they are in a late high school or college stage, I also like to get a feel for their potential career interests so that I am able to incorporate the teaching material into real life scenarios that they will be motivated by. I also like to get a feel for their general interests and outside responsibilities away from school so that we can develop a somewhat personal relationship which makes learning much more enjoyable for the student.
After the first meeting I like to create weekly as well as monthly calendars so that the student is able to have a snapshot of what they should be working on outside of tutoring as well as stay organized. I also like to receive feedback after each session and ask if there is anything else the student would like to see incorporated in the next session.
