On Point Math Tutoring

About

I am very passionate about helping others succeed in their educational goals and really just life in general. I will give 100% in trying to find a solution that will help you understand the task you are struggling with. Together, we will find a way!!

I started tutoring when I was in middle school and continued throughout college. Even now, I homeschool my children and I like to call that tutoring as well. Ha ha

I would say what makes me qualified for this job would be the grades I received in each subject. I have always been a straight A student. My GPA in college was a 4.0. My three children that I homeschool (5th grade, 4th grade, Kindergarten) are straight A students. Each of my children are unique in how they learn, how they study, etc and I have worked WITH them and developed different ways for each of them to understand their work so that they succeed. Another qualification would be that I am an extremely patient person. Patience is key in tutoring, in my opinion and experience.

Frequently asked questions

The first step in the process would be to have a conversation with the student (or parent of the student) to see what areas they need my help in. I usually ask a series of questions such as: How do you usually study? Would you be open to trying new ways of studying? Is there a certain area of the subject that you feel you need more help with? After speaking with them, I usually try to come up with a few different approaches and try each one as needed.

I have two Associates Degrees. I have studied Advanced Mathematics in college, mostly as electives, because I just have an affinity for the subject. My GPA in college was a 4.0. I have always been straight A student and I took all AP & Honors classes my junior and senior year in high school.

Not quite yet. I'm working on this now.

It first began when kids in my classes noticed that I was getting good grades and they would ask for my help. In college, I started getting paid to tutor. I stopped after college for awhile because I had my children, but I've never lost the love for it and desire to do it.
