About
I tutor students online using Zoom or Skype and collaborative whiteboards. You don't have to make trips to me, nor do I need to make trips to you. Now with the help of video-conferencing, you can get the help you need quicker from the comfort of your own home. It is as if I am sitting right next to you. I can see everything you write and you can see everything I do. Advances in technology have made old-fashioned trips to the tutor obsolete.
I really enjoy seeing students achieve academic goals, develop confidence, and achieve a greater understanding of mathematics than they have had.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My strategies with new students always include pin-pointing exactly where help is needed. If learning gaps exist, knowing what they are can most certainly help to close them. I use a lot of questions to target weak areas. Then, I attempt to remediate those areas. This kind of targeting will not fail to help students improve classroom grades and high stakes standardized test scores.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a very successful classroom mathematics teacher for the past 27 years. I have a B. S. degree in Secondary Mathematics Education. I have taught 6th and 8th grade math, algebra I, II, and III, geometry, advanced math, pre-calculus, calculus, discrete math, college algebra, and ACT test prep. I am strongly effective when using any curriculum. I also have a Master's Degree in curriculum and instruction. My strength is in teaching difficult and complex subjects in fun and memorable ways.
