I've just graduated from Tulane University after studying English, and I have experience in early elementary education as well. I've tutored in several New Orleans charter schools, helping kids of all ages with subjects such as english, social studies, math, and reading. I'm most passionate about reading, and I love helping kids gain confidence in their own reading skills, no matter their level. I love to write as well, and I have even written my own children's book which I hope to soon publish.

I find working with students to be one of the most rewarding jobs out there - passing on information and strategies for learning to other people is incredibly important. I love getting to know students and learning from them as well, and I always hope I've made a small difference in their lives.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The most important thing to me is that a student feels like they've been helped and learned something after each lesson. I'd like to hear from them as to what they want to gain from the experience and what they most want to work on, and then I'm better able to plan my lesson to meet their goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's degree in English, and I have a wide range of experience in the subject; I've worked with everything from journalism to creative writing. I was a reading tutor for 1st and 2nd graders for two years, and I've helped middle schoolers with english and many other subjects.
What types of students have you worked with?
While I've mainly worked with elementary schoolers, I have tutored all ages - from kindergarten to high school.
