Lake Area Tutoring LLC
About
I am keen on critical thinking. My goal is to take the fear of Math away and replace it with an appreciation for the newly acquired skills.
I love working with students and seeing the Ah Ha! moment.
I also love being able to work directly with Parents on helping their child succeed.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
During the first session I work more on building trust than helping with a concept. Once trust is established just about anything can be taught.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 15 years experience in tutoring as well as a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics.
How did you get started teaching?
It started in college. I have always been a good student but had to work hard and study to get good grades. When I started tutoring I realized that other people have similar issues.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types: from kindergarten to college or vocational level.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent family outing. We are now a family of four and it was nice to have Dad, Mom, and kiddos all together and spending time with one another.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Interview the potential teacher. Make sure you “click”. Remember, you are the boss! So make sure you are getting what you are asking from them. Also, be open.. you may be the boss but you must also be willing to learn. You are here because you have a need and they have the tools to help fix your need.
