Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Everyone learns differently, but during the first lesson I get a good idea of what methods work best for you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated with a Bachelor's from UL Lafayette and have been tutoring mostly high school/college math and physics for 4 years since then.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Typically it's $35 for an hour lesson to travel to me, or $40 for an hour lesson if I travel to you!
How did you get started teaching?
I used to tutor after school through the National Honor's Society in high school, and have a passion for helping people. After graduating from UL, a teacher of mine asked if I was able to help with one of their students who were struggling. Through word of mouth I've helped quite a few students since then.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have plenty of experience helping students of all ages from middle school through college.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Everyone learns in different ways, and it is okay if you feel like you are struggling with the way your classroom teacher presents things. A tutor can help you develop methods on your own to be able to take information presented in any way and make it more understandable.
