About
I learned very early on that the best way to teach someone is to listen and provide a custom learning opportunity that isn't just by the book. I find that majority of the students that struggle are either too shy to ask for help or just don't have the confidence to try.
I started tutoring and giving workshops while working towards my bachelors in computer science and mathematics in 2003 at UL Lafayette where I was recognized for outstanding service and rewarded placement on the Dean's List. Unlike so many graduates I have been fortunate enough to find a career that not only uses my degree, but continuously challenges me to educate my peers.
The beauty of tutoring is that one on one time without judgement, which every student deserves! A big part teaching for me is being able to communicate creatively and most importantly, listen. There's something special when it finally clicks for someone and they not only understand, but are able teach it back to you.
