About

My name is Olivia, but you can call me Liv. I am 20 years old. I am a current college student who majors in literature. English has always been a passion of mine since I was in elementary school. I love all of the stories, plays, etc. I will make your learning experience exciting. I will make activities and projects that will excel your learning. I will find a learning technique that will help you the most. I am very willing for you to teach me some things a long the way about how you like to learn. For example, if you learn better by studying PowerPoints, flash cards, etc. I will make sure to go above and beyond for your learning experience to make sure you excel. I have been tutoring since my sophomore year of highschool. Even though I am only a student in college, I never made any of an A in all and every English class. I was the president of our career organization in highschool and a varsity head leader as well. I am very patient and kind. I am also very understanding and will make your learning experience feel more like a hobby rather than a homework assignment. I am looking forward to teaching you!

Frequently asked questions

I make sure to introduce myself and give a brief summary about myself. I will allow the student to get comfortable with me as long as it takes. I will slowly build a teacher student relationship with the student. I will ask them questions to get to know them and what kind of things they might like. I will ask them what kind of learning techniques make them most comfortable. I will give them rewards like candy or things that might interest them.

I am a English major, more specifically a early childhood education major in college. I have tutored for 4 years in highschool and currently in college. I have dealt with voluntary programs to tutor children as well. I have been awarded in my previous education for the highest overall English award, also.

Traveling to a student's house will be 20 to 25 dollars an hour. Virtual teaching will be 15 dollars an hour. Pricing ranges depending on what curriculum I am tutoring and if extra supplies red to be provided.

I honestly volunteered myself to tutor students. I saw students struggling with different curriculum in highschool. We were offered tutoring, but most of the time the teachers were worn out and tired by the end of the day. They just weren't eager to teach anymore or very thorough in their teachings. I took on the responsibility of starting my own tutoring services and it was great. Observing other students feeling that excitement and seeing their faces light up, is the best reward I have ever felt.

I have worked with highschool students, elementary, and jr high students.

I am very fond of the group of students that I recently just tutored. I guided them by tutoring them in their literature class. The week of finals can become very stressful, especially in college. I tutored each of them and helped them in the problematic areas that they were having. Each of them scored no lower than a B on their final essay exam. This was the most rewarding feeling knowing that I guided them to success.

I would give the advice of looking for certain characteristics. Look for a teacher who is very willing to help, a great listener, and someone who is willing to learn from you, also. Also, look for a teacher who show's patience. Patience is the key to teaching, especially if the student lacks in a certain area.

Are there any of my fellow students who are willing to help me? Can my parents help me or do they know the curriculum that I need help in? What teacher would be the most helpful in this area?
