Tutoring

I am willing to offer tutoring either before school or after school in the afternoon or evenings, as well as even on the weekends. I can travel to you, or meet at a coffee shop or another place. I also try to meet at a time the parents will be around, in case they have any questions as well. While the tutoring session would be between myself and the child(ren), having the parents there makes it easy for us to communicate, and will help me in my tutoring.

I specialize in Social Studies and Religion, as those are the subjects I have degrees in as well as formal teaching experience. However, I also tutor in English, Math, Spanish, and ESL, as those are subjects I have tutored in before.

I can also offer coaching as well in running, soccer, and swimming, as those are sports and activities I coached and participated in.

I am willing and able to work with elementary, middle, AND high school students. Most importantly, I am willing to get to know the families, as I feel a relationship and bond between the tutors and families will lead to greater success.

I enjoy continually learning while I educate, and getting to know the students and their families I work with. Building relationships with the families and children can be crucial for success both academically and even personally. I love the expression the students have when they understand something, as it's truly rewarding to know that the hard work is paying off. I have worked as a teacher and also as Director of Religious Education, so I have had the chance to get to know many families. Education happens not only in the classroom, but also in life.
