About
I am a private teacher specializing in math, elementary through Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Statistics, and college Algebra. My ability to break down complicated problems into simple, understandable steps my students can duplicate has helped them succeed. Whether your student is looking to brush up on basics, deep dive into algebraic expressions, graph logarithms, or determine the mean, I can assist them in not only inderstanding the process, but also applying what they’ve learned to future assignments.
The best part of my job is helping students understand concepts and apply them to real world problems and watching their confidence in their ability to solve problems grow with each success they achieve.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Opening up a dialogue with my student about what they hope to accomplish with a tutor helps me glean information vital to the plan I will create for their success. I also administer a series of baseline questions for the subject matter (math course) to ascertain the student’s strengths and areas for improvement. Once I have talked to the student, identified areas, and set realistic goals, I can layout a path to achieving the goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a retired meteorologist and currently work as a private teacher for local family teaching all subject content from elementary through high school. I especially enjoy teaching the subject areas of math and science.
