I'm not your typical Teacher. I am an Engineer with 20 years experience. Im a father to 4 kids, coach, and i know exactly how to teach and motivate your kid to finally get past the fear and apprehension that math might bring them.
You know why I know that? Because I was that kid!! Terrible!! Didn't get it, didn't know where to begin, cared more about sports and girls, and yet...
I figured it out. Majored in Engineering at LSU and started at the very beginning. With Remedial Math. And now, here I am: I'm a licensed professional civil engineer with over 20 years experience in transportation engineering that includes bridge, highway, and traffic design.
You may wonder why I tutor? Simple. Besides putting a few bucks in my pocket, I love to teach and coach kids. Especially those kids that remind me of myself and I love to see the light bulb go off and I promise, it will!!
"If you know how, you'll have a job. If you know why, you'll be the boss"
As a Dad and a coach of youth sports for many years, I know kids. I can relate to them. Your kid is going to love learning from me, have fun, and you will be more then satisfied with his progress.
Can't wait to hear from you!!
I absolutely love watching the light bulb finally turn on!!

I do start with a timed multiication tables test. I work on that fundamental first.
Then i do their homework with them or whatever practice problems we need to work on.
I dont check to make sure they finish it. I make sure they truly understand it. I ask the same problem from every angle and will do additional problems until I'm satisfied they know "why"
I want to see every single step written down in a neat and orderly methodology so that they get used to structured thinking.
They will definitely go through some paper!!
