Greetings to all students with a burning desire to pursue their goals through education!! You've come to the right place for personal assistance and learning enhancements,as it is indeed my passion to serve and fulfill your academic needs. I am a life long educator with forty years of service in the Louisiana public and private schools.I received my undergraduate training in education at Grambling State University and my graduate training in education at Loyola University,Southeastern Louisiana University, and Louisiana State University.I specialize in Secondary Education,Grades 6 through 12,and I've also worked extensively with Adult Learners seeking GED preparation for High School Equivalency/Diploma Exams.I love my work very much, and it has been and remains a privilege to be an educator!! Receiving numerous Teacher of the Year,Department Chairperson of the Year,Most Popular Teacher of the Year, and Most Dedicated Teacher of the Year Awards by the various principals, staffs, and my beloved peers over the years of my career, has been so endearing to me;therefore, much motivation to continue to serve is endlesss!! My commitment to education is unwavering, and it is indeed a privilege and a pleasure to continuously serve the education community with life time certification in English and Social Studies Education.
Education has always been a passion of mine, even before I actually became a teacher.I would pretend that I was teaching classes as a child, and the students were my doll collection. The privilege of actually teaching over the last forty years has given me immeasurable pleasure because I've seen literally thousands of students develop their skills and become outstanding people, both personally and professionally. One of the things I think I enjoy most about my work is the fact that I'm rendering an immensely important service. The gift of literacy is so very important, and to be able to spread that gift around to thousands, who in many instances, continue to pay it forward,is priceless!!!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I find it imperative to be a good listener when initially assessing a student's strengths and/or weaknesses in subject matters at hand. It's always great to have a listening ear on the part of the student and the teacher/tutor even before written and/or oral diagnostic evaluatons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been an educator for over 40 years in the Louisiana public and private schools.I've also worked extensively with Adult Learners pursuing training in preparation for GEDs
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I usually charge 12 to 15 dollars per hour. Many times I try to work with students who may be interested in what I call two for one, meaning that I will work with them regarding pricing,if they agree to stick with the lessons and work very hard to be successful.
How did you get started teaching?
Actually,my high school teachers inspired me to want to become a teacher!! They were so very dedicated, and each and every day throughout my career,I've thought of them favorably.I also thank them for inspiring me to do such a rewarding and beneficial job!! What a privilege it has been to give back through sharing the precious gift of literacy through education!!
What types of students have you worked with?
I specialize in Secondary Education,Grades 6 through 12 and Adult Education.I have worked with younger students,Grades 2 through 5;however,the bulk of my career has been spent working with students on the secondary and adult education levels.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently received an invitation to be the guest of honor at the Class of 1987's High School Reunion from the students at the high school where I worked for so many years in New Orleans. It was truly an enjoyable experience, and I will never forget it!! Even after 30 years, the students still remembered me,and showed me so much love and appreciation for my work! What an honor, indeed!!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be sure to know exactly what you want to get out of the learning experience. It is usually best to work with a teacher/tutor who has experience in the given subject area as well as a background in actually teaching it.I can't express enough, how important it is to hire an experienced educator, because being a good teacher involves so much more than just knowing the subject matter.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are my strengths in the subject area? What are my weaknesses in the subject area? What specifically can I do to motivate myself to be successful. What time frame can I set for personal success?
