About
Certified award winning former teacher with Masters degree in Education from Bellarmine University. I have over 15 years teaching experience and 3 school age children of my own.
My passion for making a memorable difference in the life of a child stems from my own challenges overcome in the classroom. My strengths lie in building rapport and trust with the student and parents that instills confidence ... an integral part of succeeding in the classroom. By showing you believe in the child and guide them with coping strategies to master curriculum, they are more open to growing not only as a student but in all facets of their life.
My diversity in curriculum is available for tutoring all ages K-12 in areas of English (writing, essays, grammar, reading comprehension), Math, Science, Social Studies, as well as my experience with national organizations (ACT prep, college applications and essays, FAFSA and scholarship assistance, college research and planning)

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Initial consultation is getting to know a student, identify where they are, and understand their interests, personality and learning style. Embrace their frustrations and develop an agenda together that will engage the student with hands on learning and expectations that push the student to realize their potential. Track progress to show growth to student AND parent. Gradual release of responsibility utilizing an I DO.. WE DO... then YOU DO method. Celebrate small victories often!

Flexible arrangements for one hour lessons depending on assessment of needed amounts of lessons each week or month. Rates are dependent on number of lessons needed and content which range between $30 - $40/hour
