A Better Class

I have 16 years of teaching experience and currently teach fifth grade. I am a Certified Academic Language Practitioner with 12 years of experience assessing and instructing students with language-based language differences. I also have a master’s degree as a Literary Specialist for P-12.

I love teaching students to read and write. It is my goal to help students gain confidence as a reader, find their voice as a writer, and develop a love for learning. Our language is complex, but teaching using explicit and direct instruction that is prescriptive to your student’s needs will help them reach their learning goals and find success. My favorite thing about teaching is experiencing that “aha” moment with a student. I look forward to helping your struggling reader unlock their potential soon.
