Hubbard Math Tutoring
Two things I've found enjoyable and fun is teaching and math, especially any type of algebra and geometry. Ever since elementary school, I've tutored peers and my siblings, and I've enjoyed every second of it. The aha moment on people's faces after I've helped them is a heartwarming feeling when they've struggled before since teachers sometimes don't have the patience to teach them. Also, I like to apply how they learn or think in my tutoring since everyone learns differently and some may have a learning disability that needs attention to when teaching.
As I said before, I've tutored a variety of people from elementary to middle school and high school. I'm also a junior in college that's majoring in middle school education with a math and history concentration. I've had class hours at shadowing an actual teacher and have had classes that concentrated on how to teach and how children and teenagers think and their psychology when they're thinking. As well as strategies on how to teach. Before this, I was even a mathematics major for a year before wanting to switch to middle school education due to wanting to be a rock for children in middle school when they needed someone since a lot of a child's issues; puberty and such, start in middle school. I enjoy tutoring children with learning disabilites, such as ADHD, so they can have that aha moment that also boosts their self-confidence in their learning. I'm here to try to achieve a growth-mindset in learning. I know some people are more creative and prefer English and creative writing, however, I want to have the patience and make the effort to help people understand math as well and for them to achieve that self-confidence in themselves.
