English Tutoring
About
Hi! My name is Nikki and I am currently enrolled in the University of Kentucky’s secondary English education program! I adore English and children and am extremely passionate about making sure every child achieves success in this subject. I spent my first semester of my college education tutoring my peers in chemistry as well as peer reviewing and editing papers for classmates. I also served as a student teacher for ANA 109 and ANA 110. I graduated as Valedictorian of my class with over a 4.0 GPA. I received an A in my AP literature course as well as passing the exam. I also received an A in all my prior advanced and dual credit English courses. I am passionate about assisting others in achieving success in this course and am excited to help in any way possible!
The work I do is very important to me because it is truly what I want to do for then rest of my life. I feel that with a job like this I am able to make a difference in a student’s life just by assisting them in a subject matter I’m passionate about.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student my first step is to always make them feel comfortable. I want them to know that they have made a step in the right direction by asking for help, everyone needs it sometimes! I then ask them about where they feel they personally need assistance. I want to know where the student struggles in order to address their needs directly. From this will be a series of practice exercises, analyzing their works; taking things slow and step by step!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
