Thank you for taking the time to consider me as your future tutor in English as a Second Language. My qualifications include a certification from The International TEFL Academy and as a volunteer tutor with Asian Human Services. Both are based in Chicago.
My love of literature and writing inspires my desire to teach English so everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the thousands of stories that are written by native English speakers. I am currently studying for a Bachelor of Art in Creative Writing from Colorado Christian University and after graduation, hope to live overseas to teach English in a formal school setting.
I have around 5 years of experience working with children in a formal school setting. The ages range from 2 years-14 years. My volunteer work has given me the experience to work with adults as well.
My philosophy for teaching is to meet you at your level. The curriculum will cover vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, and speaking. I will also help edit essays or formal academic papers of any kind. Our first lesson would be complimentary in order to see if it is a good fit and to make sure I can meet your expectations.
Thank you again for taking the time to read a little about me and I look forward to working with you!

The process I will go through with a new student is a guaranteed complimentary introductory lesson. This lesson will be to assess the student's strengths and interests in regards to ESL.
If the student chooses to continue working with me after the first lesson, then I will prepare lesson plans catered to them. Everyone learns in different styles and paces, so I will do my best to meet them where they are.
