About
I've had a passion for math ever since choosing it as my college major. I love learning more about the subject and getting to share my passion with others!
I've been tutoring online and through my local university since 2018. I've been awarded "Outstanding Tutor" and "Tutor of the Week" several times since starting my work.
I maintained a 4.0 throughout all of high school, undergraduate, and graduate degree mathematics courses. I am comfortable helping in any level of math from middle school to first-year graduate school level material.
I look forward to working with you!
I love helping a student experience "the click" when the math concepts start to make sense.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Once I've been hired by a new student, I will video call with them to get to know them and start to plan a schedule for helping them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics at Kansas State University with a 4.0 GPA. During this time, I have done mathematics tutoring through the university both in the math department and the engineering department.
I also earned a 36 on the ACT in high school and have tutored other high school students for the ACT and improved their scores primarily by helping them improve their math sections.

How did you get started teaching?
I started tutoring in college as a way to make some extra money, but began to really enjoy helping others understand math. Since then, I have continued to tutor and have always enjoyed my time.
What types of students have you worked with?
Although I have worked with everyone from middle school to graduate school in mathematics, most of my work has come from undergraduate math courses and math ACT prep for juniors/seniors in high school.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I tutored a student in Calculus 2 who relied heavily on pictures to understand concepts. This was a great experience for me and her as I was able to help her understand the content of the course, and I was able to rethink a lot of the content of the class as I had to examine everything in a new light to explain it with pictures.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the teacher understands how you learn best, so they can work to help you individually.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
* When did I start to feel lost in this class?
* Before trying to get help on new material, ask yourself what part of the class you do understand so far.
* What am I hoping to obtain from reaching out for help?
