About

I have a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Spanish Education and have four years of teaching experience. I also enjoy being a regular adult leader of the youth (grades 7-12) at my church. My passion for young people and empowering them to recognize their potential fuels the way I engage with and challenge my students to persevere when the content gets tough. My teaching strategies are based in research and learned experience.

Tutoring is an excellent way for you to help your children achieve success in their classes while still empowering them to truly do the work themselves and learn the content. The best part of teaching is witnessing the moment when a child understands the material. As your tutor, I will help your child work through the material and analyze the best way to approach improving grades and understanding in their class(es). I'm very passionate about teaching, our youth, and the betterment of our community.

Miss Elizabeth is an outstanding instructor. As my sophomore son’s Spanish II teacher, she made a great and lasting impact on him. My son developed a greater command of Spanish than I thought possible and Miss Elizabeth inspired a love of learning and adventure that continues to this day. Miss Elizabeth certainly has the professional knowledge and temperament for maximizing a student’s potential!

Liz and I were colleagues at her previous school and this woman is one incredible teacher. She is passionate about teaching and students. She is so easy to learn from and wish I would have had her as a teacher when I was a student.

Ms Lockard was my teacher in Southern Colorado for two years. She provided fun activities that coincided with the curriculum. She is very organized about her work and made learning an exciting experience. She finds methods that work to help each student specifically, while also highlighting our capabilities, and promoting our achievements. I would absolutely recommend her work!

Frequently asked questions

We would typically start with analyzing where the student is and where the student wants to be. Forming short and long term goals are very important.

Next, we'd dig into the material and discuss what areas are the highest priority. After breaking down goals and areas to study, we'd then discuss best ways to study.

Before leaving the first sesson, it would be best to lay out some sort of regular schedule for tutoring sessions and debrief on first session.

I started tutoring Spanish in High School. When in college, I pursued Secondary Spanish Education and truly found my passion to teach while volunteering with English Talk, a nonprofit based in Argentina, where I helped teach local residents English through organic and structured conversation. My student teaching experience in the Denver Public School System in Colorado only verified my vocation to teach.

I have worked with gifted students, those with vaious learning disabilities and students with social/emotional challenges.

The majority of my experience has been in a public school classroom ranging from individual study sessions to a classroom with 32 students.

I recently went to Yosemite National Park and enjoyed my time there! It's a breathtakingly beautifu place. I saw four bears! 🐻

Look for someone who has your best interest at heart. Tutors are there to SERVE the STUDENT. Be specific and clear about what you want from your tutor so there is no room for confusion or error about expectations. All good tutors will have some sort of game plan in mind. Just be sure you're on the same page before you begin.
