About

I am a freelance, college educated mathematician looking to get into some tutoring to mix up the monotony of my daily work life.

I love serving others and helping whenever and wherever I am needed. I have a strong work ethic and an eye for detail.

Mostly helping in a field that is known for creating such hostile students!

With all humor attached, we can do this together!

    Frequently asked questions

Each experience has been unique, but we'll start with Introductions.

I ask to see what material they are currently working through, then we'll jump into the assignment/study material they'll need to master.

We'll discuss all the difficulties they are encountering and iron out those struggles throughout the session.

If they are needing to be encouraged, I am here, I can also teach their parent/guardian if warranted.

I've taught in the college setting, I've taught in the high school setting.  Combined I've been in this industry for 7 or so years.  I've tutored many different sub-subjects of mathematics.

I've taught international students and domestic.

Language barriers are not a huge hurdle with google translate! The math is still universally understood.

I do not have a standard pricing system.

I am flexible and ask that you pay whatever you feel our time is worth.

Food has been payment in the past.

Barter has also been payment in the past.

I'm simply a vessel who enjoys translating mathematics to those interested in getting through!

I had a rocky experience as a student,

    Elementary was great!

    Middle was not fun!

    High school was intense!

When I got to college, I had a professor who saw my tenacity and encourage me to continue into an exploratory math class. This encouragement was the wave I rode until I met a whole department of mathematicians that were very inspirational.

I still struggled, but what I learned is the more you struggle and the more you're exposed to, the easier the beginning topics become.

I realized after many years, that I had gained a skill to break down the topics into easy digestable pieces.  I have yet to run into a person who hasn't gained any insight from our time together.

Geniuses, non-geniuses, students with learning disabilities, students with behavioral issues, students who couldn't speak English well, young children (age 7), old adults (age 80), folks going for their GED, fellow teachers looking for help with Math certification, students studying for their ACT/SAT/GRE, etc.

I have been blessed with a Variety.

I enjoy seeing students outside the tutor sphere, I am remembered and it's a pleasant reuniting experience.

Personality makes the difference. Attitude contributes to the learning experience.

Go into it with an open heart, if you don't understand, ask questions, keep asking until you are satisfied.

Keep in mind, some questions do not have simple answers, but if you ask the question then you are knocking on a door.  This door could lead into an interesting area.

Be encouraged, the struggle is real! But there are folks out here to help! Find yourself a person who can guide you!

    I prefer the real-time experience.

No prep work is necessary for me or you.

If you bring your material and the notes you've gathered, I will bring my knowledge and shake loose the confusion.

Most of my teaching is done on the fly, so a flexible student is ideal.

But, if you are a planner (I understand those too) and have a list of topics you'd like to go over, I am all ears and with google we can find many example problems to practice.
