About

I discovered my passion for tutoring in college where I tutored math for 2 years. I covered from algebra all the way to differential equations. As a mechanical engineering major, students would also come to me for subjects like physics or engineering. I acquired a tutor certification through training in order to be a math tutor at my university's Academic Success Center.

As a mechanical engineer I am excited to continue tutoring and helping people grasp math one session at a time.

I also offer services in Spanish for anyone who has more trouble learning math in English.

Strongly recommend, calc 1 overwhelmed me until I starting having sessions with her! It became way easier to understand after our sessions.

Frequently asked questions

I will typically figure out their goal, whether it's accomplishing an assignment or further their understanding (typically both). As I learn about their goal and begin going through problems I adapt to each student. Not everyone learns quite the same so it's important to adapt to each student when tutoring.

I have a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Georgia Southern University. The last two years of my major I was a certified math tutor for the university where I tutored algebra, survey of calculus,  calculus 1-3, differential equations, and linear algebra. I also had students coming to me for engineering or physics help.

Math tutoring sessions will typically be $35/ hr

I have always been inclined to tutor people when there is a situation where I have the knowledge to do so. Thus, I thought it fitting to apply to be a math tutor for the university and thankfully I was allowed the opportunity to do it for my last 2 years of college.

I have mostly worked with college students. I have on occasion tutored high school kids privately.

My best advice when looking for a math tutor would be to find someone who can adapt and understand the way you learn. A tutor who can explain a complex topic in a way that makes more sense makes all the difference.
