Brain Booster-Reading Specialist And Math Enthusiast

I am a certified teacher. I decided not to return to the classroom this year, but rather focus my teaching skills in one to one or small group settings. I have been an Intervention Reading Specialist and an Educational Coach for the entire school. I have taught all elementary grades 1-5, as well as 6th grade math and science for gifted and talented students. Previously, students and parents nominated me for the Walmart Teacher of the Year. I won that year and while I received a $1000 stipend for that honor, the real reward is knowing that parents and students felt I deserved it.

I am enthusiastic about leading students to the next level. I meet them where they are and watch them soar. There is not a feeling like it. My goal is to teach solid, core understanding of a subject. I have a multitude of best practices after my 23 years as a teacher.

While I have extensive training in reading interventions, I have always loved math and science. I taught Engineering in middle school with 6th grade students.
