Because math was not aways easy for me, I can empathise with anyone who needs help! I began my professional career as a graphic designer, but I did understand math. I have aways wanted to share my understanding of math, especially with folks who are having a difficult time with math.

Because I enjoyed helping people learn math, I decided to switch careers. I went back to university and obtained a second bachelor's degree in Mathematics/Teacher Education.

I enjoy working with students of all ages! I have worked with students from kindergarten to adults!

The best compliment I ever received was from a third grade student who struggled with math. The student told me, "Thanks for helping me become a real mathematician." And, indeed, he had!

It is important for a student to find a teacher who is patient and willing to explain things in a number of different ways. Look for a teacher who acknowledges your strengths, and who will celebrate your hard work and accomplishments.

It is helpful if students can identify two or three concrete things that they need help with before having a session with a teacher.

Sometimes, however, students may feel so overwhelmed with math that they need a teacher's help to identify what they need help with. Having a teacher help in this way can help reduce anxiety towards math.
