About
I graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education with a year's experience teaching at a STEAM Academy (a public school) at the upper elementary level. Previous experience includes substitute teaching, student teaching, and observing grades 1-5 nationally and internationally (study abroad experience in Sweden).
Currently, I'm a graduate student studying cultural and educational policy. I'm known for being patient, positive, and having a very friendly disposition!
I'm excited to work with you!!
I love watching students become empowered by their newfound confidence in a subject or with a concept! My favorite part is giving them the tools and guidance they need and watching them come to their own personal conclusions or realizations on a problem/topic.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I enjoy taking time to get to know new students by learning about their likes, dislikes, hobbies, and favorite activities. I also like to know what their favorite and least favorite subjects are, so I know how to gauge the lesson. I especially like to dig for the questions students may be too afraid to ask as well, just so I know I'm meeting all their needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education (grades 1-6) in 2019 and worked for a year as an upper elementary public school teacher at a project-based school. I also have experience substitute teaching, student teaching, and observing grades 1-5 domestically and internationally (study abroad experience).
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching by going to school for a degree in education. During my senior year, I worked for a semester as a substitute teacher for hands-on experience prior to student teaching and working full-time.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with a large range of students from grades 1 through 6. Previous kids I've worked with have been shy, expressive, frustrated, on specialized learning plans (504, IEP), and some ESL (English as a Second Language).
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I didn't get to end this past school year the way I wanted to due to COVID, but one of my students who is very passionate about the arts filmed an entire video reflecting on the school year. He created the whole thing, inviting students and teachers to insert quotes and memories throughout. It was a very proud and touching moment for me!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would say make sure you "click" with them and you feel like you're comfortable enough to ask the questions you're a little shy about. Having a teacher you feel you can relax with will make all the difference!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Is this something I'm able to figure out on my own? Is this something I'm needing advice, support, or encouragement on? Is this something I'm wanting to talk my way through or have help with?
