About

After earning my Molecular and Cell Biology B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I applied and earned 1 of 66 seats (~1,700 applications) at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. I love the biomedical sciences: physiology, anatomy, molecular genetics, immunology, and pathology, and those are just a few of my favorites!

I never went on to become a dentist; I worked hard for three years at UIC College of Dentistry, but I withdrew from the program as I found little passion for what I discovered to be the day-to-day activities and duties of a general dentist.

I always learned best through teaching others. I often used my ability or inability to explain concepts to peers or professors as a reliable indicator of my grasp of a subject. With a natural affinity for explaining ideas to others, I started tutoring after dental school.

I never expected to be a private tutor for what is now nearly six years!

In the past, I've privately tutored up to 21 students per week, in-person and online. I am now a law student who, like everyone else, has only 24 hours per day. Still, I meet consistently with two students every week online via Zoom. As another semester of school commences for students, I'd love to find 2-3 students looking for a well-rounded, highly experienced and personable tutor.

If I decide to work with a student, I give them the personalized attention they need. Whether I'm on the clock in a scheduled session or replying to a student's last-minute question via text, I take care of my students because I care. I'm easygoing but also professional and driven. I build rapport and healthy mentorships with students through mutual respect.

Kevin is a phenomenal tutor who came highly recommended. He breaks down the material in a clear and concise way to improve my understanding of concepts (and to improve my scores, as well). I only wish I had found him sooner. Thanks, Kevin!

Kevin is a great tutor to work with. He tutored me for my upper level SSAT exam for months. We met for 2 hours each session and he was able to keep the sessions fun and engaging. He is also very patient.

I worked with Kevin on Genetics Material pertaining to upcoming cumulative exams, quizzes and Homework assignments. He was adaptable when it came to teaching material that I was struggling with, and was able to reaffirm concepts that I already knew, in order To make the most of the time we had. I would recommended Kevin for any Scientific classes as he is prepared prior to the sessions to assist his students!

Confirm your tutor is fluent in your course(s) and field(s) of study by requesting to know more about their academic and professional background.

Definitely check reviews from the tutor's previous students/clients: these are most certainly the best indicators of the tutor's success (or lack thereof) and their students' experiences.
