About
My name is Erin. I have a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I love math and have always loved math because it is a subject where you are really free to make discoveries and realize the many connections between mathematical ideas. Helping others make these connections and realize their full potential truly inspires me. For the past four years, I've been working with high school students and college students, and I have found that working with this age group is a lot of fun. I hope that you'll consider working with me as your math tutor!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I try to ask questions to find out why they've been struggling, how'd they do in previous math courses (How is their foundation?), how well do they engage with their teacher, are they completing their assignments or struggling with exams, etc.
Also, I try to gauge what the student is looking for. If students are simply looking for homework help, I'll do that, but all the while I take notes on the side anytime I notice that there is a particular concept they seem to be struggling with so that I can make a point of emphasizing it in future problems and study sessions.
If a student wants a more lesson-based session, I'll ask for their class syllabus so I can consider some of my favorite relavent learning materials or areas of potential deeper study.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree (B.S.) in Mathematics.
I also previously worked with a church for over 4 years as a college mentor.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I prefer a minimum of $35 per hour.
