About
Hello! My name is Leah and I'm a medical student at UMKC. I've been tutoring high school students for 4+ years now and I absolutely love it. In terms of qualifications, I have taken 10 AP courses and done well in all of them. I scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT. I am also a current student in a BS/MD program so I'll be a doctor by 23. I am also getting my undergraduate degree in liberal arts right now with a minor in chemistry so I'm actively taking reading, writing, and chemistry classes in addition to my medical coursework. I love teaching and I'm very organized with my sessions. If we work together, I look forward to getting to know you and offering support during stressful times. I'll make sure that you leave our sessions satisfied and learning new things.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First off, we can get to know each other so we'll be comfortable working together. Then I'd love to talk to the student about their goals for our sessions and how we can work to achieve them. I'd establish a baseline on what the students already knows and what the student needs to learn during my sessions. Then I'd make a schedule for the student that really clarifies what we'll do in every session. These schedules can also help keep parents in the loop if they'd like.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked as a tutor at Maine East High School for 4 years. I'd do tutoring sessions both before and after school. I worked with kids on a variety of subjects. I have only received phenomenal feedback from my students.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge per hour but I'd love to talk to the student and figure out a pricing plan with them.
