Hi! Thanks so much for taking a few minutes to read about me. My name is Jenna and I am a former teacher of 6 years. I have a double master's degree in Early Childhood Education with an endorsement in Special Education and a master's in Reading. I have extensive experience teaching Kindergarten, First Grade and Special Education. I have 2 small children at home and am looking to add 1-2 more student to my tutoring roster. I would love to meet you and hear all about your education journey.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before we get started I want to speak with the student and parent about what it is that is making you lean towards tutoring services. I would gather as much information annecdotally from you and any teachers you would be willing to connect me with. In the case of reading needs, I would perform a series of assessments that would allow me to gain a solid understanding of where the student is in reading, and what skills would be best help them improve. After a series of sessions together, I would have regular communication with family involved to help provide suggestions for home. If requested, I would perform a repeat of the assessments.
