What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would start with an introduction and a encouraging words. I would walk the student through the problem and try to make connections to life if possible. I would look for connections so that the student felt thatthat my student could see the concern I have for their learning.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have masters of Art in teaching with an elementary endorsement k-9 general education. I also have a Masters of Art in Education administration. I completed my Doctorate in Educational Leadership Curriculm and Instruction. I have taught for 10 years in the classroom. I have servers as a tutor for a senior and a 8th grader.
How did you get started teaching?
I started as a sub and realized there was such a need for educators I went back to school to become certified.
What types of students have you worked with?
i have worked with 4th graders, 6th graders, 7th and 8th graders. Seniors. I have e worked with students with IEPs as well. I am currently and assistant principal so I continue to work with students as needed.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My oldest was awarded a trip to China and I was able to go with her. It was a wonderful learning experience.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a tutor in your area of expertise?
Make sure the person you hire cares for your success.
