What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get to know what a student may be interested in i.e. hobbies, games, etc. because I can usually relate some aspect of math to it.
I also like to know why the student nees tutoring.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Florida Professional Educator's license for 20+ years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Standard tutoring fee is $25-35 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching by substituting for a 3rd grade teacher on maternity leave.
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages --- elementary, high school, adults who needed help with the GED exams.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the teacher/tutor is someone you can talk to.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The better a student can explain their needs, the more the teacher/tutor can help.
