I have Dyslexia and ADD. Geometry was very hard for me to where I was having panic attacks during class. Ms. Cross took time out of her lunch break and sometimes after school to work with me and help me understand geometry to where I can pass. With her help I raised my grade from failing to a C and was able to graduate a semester early. I will always remember her no matter where I go in life as she was the first person to never make me feel bad about myself for not seeing things the way others do.

Ms. Cross is an outstanding teacher I had in school. She was a teacher of mine all four years of high school. To stay she went above and beyond is understatement. She truly puts her heart and soul in to making sure her students succeed. There was a few month in my junior year where I needed to be homeschooled. Who was there ready to come to my house and teach me my lessons in all subjects? Ms. Cross was. She didn’t just come once a week but everyday to make sure I would graduate on time with my class. Who could say that had a teacher willing to go that extra mile for a student? I’m still able to call her and ask for help with college. She is one of the greatest teachers and I greatly appreciate what she had and still does for me.

Ms.Cross was very caring. It’s not just a job for her. She went above and beyond to help me with studying and school work. Ms.Cross was my ipe aid for 4 years. I was not a very good student. With a learning disability school was always the last thing I wanted to do. She always pushed me to do the work and to make sure that I understood what I was working on. Without Ms.Cross I believe that I would have settled with just enough. She is extremely good at her job. I can’t say enough good things about her. She truly does care about her students and wants the best for them.

Frequently asked questions

I feel it is important to get to know a student not only academically but as well as they like to do outside of school.  It is important to try to make connections that way.  I also like to take time to explain the process and work with the student to understand and remember the different steps.

I have taught for 18 years (all at the same high school). I have an LBS 1 and continue to go to trainings to enhance my skills

My undergrad degree is in social work, I was working in a residential treatment center to teens and adolescents.  The location also had a therapeutic school, it was while working in the school I realized I could make a difference in students lives by helping them with their education.
