About
My service stands out because I am not just a girl who is good at math. While I did obtain my undergraduate degree in mathematics from the University of Notre Dame, I have also earned a masters degree in philosophy from the University of Chicago and taken doctoral coursework in music history at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Through all of these interests and experiences, I am able to bring fun and personality when working through math concepts. I enjoy building relationships with my students so they do not feel that they are struggling alone.
I love working with students through challenging math problems! During the day, I am a High School Algebra 2 teacher for 150 students and tutor in the evenings/on the weekends as well. In my classroom, I work with many students with learning disabilities, students who are primarily Spanish speaking, and honors students. As we work, I love helping students find the exact point of the problem that is confusing them, fixing that misconception, and celebrating them once they are able to succeed!
